spell check

In the main WinMail window click Tools | Options | Spelling.
Select another language.
Click Apply.
Select the language you want.
Click Apply.

If that doesn't fix your problem then describe the problem better.
 
You need to goose it a little.
Select a language other than English, then go back and select English.
