Spell Check Word 2007

I just installed MS Office with Word 2007 on a new computer and the spell
check feature of word won't work. I have tried all the posts I found on
deleting Registry keys, changing settings, etc. Still not working...

Is the correct language applied to text? Are the proofing tools correctly
installed?
