Spell check not working in Windows XP 2002

Spell check does not seem to functioning in Word. Why
would that happen and how do I fix it?

If spell checking was working before: Open Word, click on Repair and follow
the on screen prompts.

If spell checking has never worked, run Word setup and make the selection
to add components. Choose the options that apply to spell check and follow
the on screen prompts.
