when appearing on Quick Access Toolbar. jibberish can be typed and it does
not acknowledge it. It's driving him nuts! Thanks!

Click Tools, Options, Spelling, Spelling and AutoCorrection. Review all
settings.

Version of Outlook?

Is spell check enabled? Tools, options, spelling.
Is he typing in the signature field? Right click on a misspelled word. What
menu do you get?
Is he using the outlook editor (outlook 2003 and older) or Outlook 2007 but
not the office 2007 suite? Spell check as you type is dependant to some
degree on Word as the editor and the full office suite.

He is uploading Service Pack 2 which I have but he did not to see if that
helps. He has the Office 2007 Enterprise. All of the suggestions were tried
before contacting Microsoft.
