Spell Check in Outlook Express 6

When my spell check displays, it displays in French. I clicked on tools,
options then Spell Check and my "only " option is French. Why is that? How
can I change this to English?

thanks much.

Where do you see "express" in the name of this newsgroup. This
newsgroup discusses Outlook. If you want to discuss Outlook EXPRESS
then go post in a newsgroup for Outlook **EXPRESS**.

Maybe I am missing something here, but with this being a common problem
(French being the only spell checker in OE), why is Microsoft not offering a
solution of thier own to this? I have the same problem in Office 2007, and
did not upgrade from a earlier version of the product. I just want to know
what the official Microsoft solution is to this problem, without going to a
third party consultant or third party spell check program. Does such a thing
exist?

MS is not offering a solution for OE because it is working as expected,
well, except there should not be any spell checking in OE unless you use an
older version of Office. Windows does not include spell check - it comes
from an office family product (including Works, which is on most OEM
systems), so installing only Office 2007 should mean no spell check as the
spell check engine changed and OE (being much older) can't use it.

However, there is a free solution from MS - upgrade to the new Windows Live
Mail client (linked from the page at outlook-tips). It includes its own
spell check and spell checks as you type. The Live Mail client is replacing
OE and the Mail client in Vista.
