spell check fix.

After creating a new email when I click on the Spell check icon I receive the
following pop up window error.

"This language is no longer available for spell checking. Please select
another in the spelling options dialog"

I went to Tools > Options > Spelling

English was already chosen, so something was not working.

I resolved my issue by reselecting english and applying the change, this
worked!

Yes. By default the Language ID is not set in the registry, Glen. The procedure you written creates the missing values.

Error "This language is no longer available for spell checking" when using the Spell Checker in Windows Mail:

I fixed it by clicking on the english entry and selecting always check
spelling. I don't know which worked but it's working now.

Thanks,

Bill,

You may use the following REG file to configure the Spell checker:
http://www.winhelponline.com/fixes/spellchk_settings.reg

Download the file to Desktop. Right-click on the file and choose Merge. Click "Yes" to confirm.

Note that this REG file does not bring back the language options in the "Spelling" tab dropdown box, but sets English as the default language. Let's know how this goes.

Ray, click on the 'option' icon on the home page of your windows mail. You'll
see the 'spell' option there. I did the same thing trying to do a spell
check on an e-mail I had already created but it's not there it's on the home
page.

I did exactly what you said and I found nothing saying spelling under
options. What now?
