speed up menus

How do i speed up the rate that start menus and sub menus open. Its too slow
now.Thanks

How much memory do you have? Do you use a ReadyBoost usb thumb drive? Has
there been a change in the speed with which the menus open?

Thanks, this was the answer. Others got the impressions my computer was
