have you disabled all the uneccessary programs from starting when you turn
on your computer?
start>run and type 'msconfig'
go to the start up tab and uncheck every program that is not essential to
start up ( a bit of investigation on your part will tell you what's what).
the only things you really need are anti virus and firewall, maybe a couple
of others depending on your system.
uncheck things like ms office, lotus, aol, ms messenger, winzip,
.......................................................
you can also try a different program like Sysinternal's
Autoruns.
this gives you an idea of whats using registry keys to
start up. you then can start up your regeditor and manualy
delete the keys/references. or right click on a key and
select "jump to". dont get rid of anything vital!
