Any gurus know how to solve the very slow response of Powerpoint 2007 on a
Vista laptop? Migrated settings and files from Outlook 2003 running on my
previous XP based machine.

I can't think of anything else offhand that would make PPT slow to respond.
Is there anything in particular it seems sluggish doing?

Load speed is OK. Opening preview thumbnails is very very slow. Attempting
to input text has a noticeable lag as well - may take 15-20 seconds to
reflect what I type.
Odd thing is - if I work on the slides via outline - it's fast enough.

BTW - transferred settings (& Office 2007) via usb cable to new laptop using
Laplinks' PCMover. I wonder if this might be an issue too?

Usually slow text is a printer driver issue, but it sounds as if it may be
an issue with your install. Moving installations of Office the way you
describe rarely works well.

Have you tried running diagnostics? Click Office File Button | PPT Options |
Resources to get to them.

You might try updating your video driver and changing hardware acceleration
also.

Here's the thing about printer drivers and PPT 2007.

You might change to the driver listed here and see what happens. You never

Thanks. Will give it a go. Else it's re-install time.
