what are the specific meanings of word ".Net". what describes the word
".Net" why not something else
please tell me the answer becuase it was asked in my interview

This group is for classic VB (VB sans NET). There are dedicated
groups for .NET questions. They typically have 'dotnet' in their names.

None the less, you must use your own words, but here are two clues:

interNET and NETwork

What does NET mean in those contexts? How would that relate
to a developer's environment? To an application's environment?

You may want to check again where you were, this is
microsoft.public.DOTNET.languages.vb!

And what about Windows Forms, Window Services, or Console Applications, non
of which require the internet or even networks?

For 2 messages, I thought I was veiwing a different group!
