Special Transitions in Star Wars

[PapaJohn \(MVP\)]

It's not very often you see special transitions in a major movie, but I
counted about 17 of them in the new Star Wars. It made me feel right at
home, as if George Lucas put it together with Movie Maker.

He's still using just the basic ones... maybe he doesn't know about the
extra add-on packs.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed those. I've always tried to avoid
using flashy transitions, as I feel they sometimes distract from the content
of the video (you know... Less is More).

Thats funny! I saw the Star Wars movie last night and was noticing the
same thing! ha ha I was also wondering if Lucas was getting his green
screens
at 'serious magic'......LOL The movie was very visual, but I think it was
'sensory' overload with all the lava and the drawn out fight. I think the
special effects were best when they were clean and bright and of large scope.
Such as the views of the cities etc.....but Yoda and the two robots still
steal the show for me. Too bad 'chewy' only had more or less a cameo role.

I missed having a few tears in my eyes, as I didn't have an emotional
attachment to anyone... and in the middle of all that action finding myself
a bit toward falling asleep. Was it a good flick? Yes.... Would it win at
Cannes? Nope, I think they are scoring things right. Will it be a record
breaker for money? Sure.

LOL...Actually the latest Star Wars was processed on AMD Opteron Servers.
Other recent movies that were processed on AMD Opteron servers were Sin City
and Shark Tales. In addition, the upcoming animated film "Madagascar" was
processed on AMD Opteron Servers. Lucas' Special Effects Division,
Industrial Light and Magic, uses AMD Opterons and the Effects Department
Head call Intel "the Dark Side" ( I have the video where he states this...I
can send it if you like). DreamWorks, the studio that produced Madagascar,
recently signed an exclusive agreement with AMD to use their Opteron servers
exclusively in it's future movies. It's nice to see Hollywood recognizing
that AMD Opteron 64 processors are the best choice when it comes to serious
applications.

LOL! I noticed that too. I was giggling to myself as I said "aaannnd star
wipe."
