Special switch for >2GB of memory?

I just finished building my new system and it has 2GB of RAM. Is there a
special switch I have to set at startup if I have 2GB or more of memory. I
know in Windows2K Server and Windows2k3 server if you have 2GB or more of
memory you're supposed to add the /3GB switch to startup to make sure the
memory is addressable. Is this the same with XP?

Thanks,
jim

In both Windows 2000 Server and Window Server 2003 you are not "supposed" to
enable the 3GB option if you have more then 2Gb of RAM.
This is only required if you wish to change the memory allocation setting to
give server processes access to more physical RAM as the expense of the OS
being forced to use less RAM and page more.
So you are not required to do anything on Windows XP is you have more then
2GB of RAM. Window XP will see it and use it (as long as your motherboard
supports more then 2GB.)
