Special HD mounting screws

I have a Lian Li case which mounts hard drives by sliding them into
plastic rails, after 4 mounting screws have been placed in the side of
the HD. These screws leave a little bit of the barrel of the screws
sticking out, and this is what slides down the rail, held in place by
the screw head. I need more of these screws. I have looked in vain at
the Lian Li web site--anyone have any idea where I might find these
things? Thanks!

Go to Home Depot. If you can find screws that match the thread size and
head size, but are too long, you can cut them easily. Either use a
fine-bladed hacksaw, or use a crimping tool like Sears/Craftsman
00945749000 or similar. You will also find a similar crimper in the
automotive section of wal-mart or any auto parts store. It's used for
repairing (automotive style) electrical circuits with quick connectors. But
it has built-in bolt cutters for small bolts/machine screws, also. What you
are looking for is small machine screws, don't know the exact size off the
top of my head. -Dave

i used a regular screw with small washers to create the 'barrel'
Get the right part for the right job. My Shop teacher said that and it
has stayed with me. For computer parts I rely on Dalco. They are
reasonable, ship fast and have just about everything from mounting
screws to case lights. http://dalco.com/

This is the same method that Compaq, and HP use to mount their
perph's. Check with a local Computer service place, they probably have
tons of them...
