special folders redirect using tweakui

Gerald

Aloha,

In standalone mode I use tweakui to redirect the "My
Documents", "Favorites", and "Desktop" folders to make
backups easier.

When I join a system to the domain, however, these
settings are not applied UNLESS the user has domain
administrator priviledges or the domain user account is
added to the local administrators group.

Does anyone know a way off getting tweakui to work without
granting administrative privileges? I know could do the
same thing with a group policy, but not all the systems
have the same file structure.

Mahalo,
Gerald

Why don't you setup a group policy which redirects user folders? It will
have the same effect as TweakUI, is centrally configurable, and does not
require admin privs.

As I stated, the file structure is not uniform (e.g. D:\My
Documents, D:\Docs, D:\Data).

I also forgot to mention that this problem only occurs
some of the time. Most systems are fine without admin
privs, but a sizable number are. It sometimes occurs on
freshly unattended install systems too.

Thanks,
Gerald
