I just brought a 5.1 suround sound speakers and while they are pluged in the
right speaker distorts sumthin fierce (but not in my mums computer -hers is
onboard) and I have a sound blaster 24 bit card with four ports one for mic
one for front l&r and one for center and one for rear l&r.
The distortion happens continusly not just when sound is played. And it
sounds like as if there is a mic inside my computer recording the sounds in
it and playin them through the speakers. As when my computer needs to scan
the HDD you can here the noise it makes through the right speaker clearly.

The sound card make and model is: Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit - Creative
Technology Ltd - PCI slot 2 PCI bus 0 Device 9 Function 0
DRIVER DETAILS Driver Provider Creative Technologys Ltd Driver Date
04/06/2006 DD/MM/YYYY Driver Version 5.12.1.314 Digital Signer Microsoft
Windows Hardware Compatibility Publ Resources are: I/O Range D000-D01F
IRQ 17 and there are no conflicts.

The Speakers Make and Model are: Logitech X-530

Note: every time I scroll or move my mouse it distorts even worse!

Try moving the card to a different PCI slot. If that doesn't help you
probably have a bad card. If you try the card on another PC and it works
well, then you probably have a cheap or bad motherboard.
