Speaker Setup (5.1 vs stereo) doesn't do anything

Under the advanced speaker settings in the control panel is an option to
change the speaker setup. There are about a dozen options in the pulldown
menu. No matter what option I pick, nothing changes in the sound coming from
the speakers. I have a 5.1 setup plugged in but I only get sound from the
front and sub (which gets its signal through the front line when 5.1 isn't
active). Any help would be appreciated.

That's a function of your sound card and its drivers. Make sure the
sound card is setup correctly and you have the latest software\drivers
for it installed. Also make sure you have the speaker wiring
correct, go over the wiring diagram in the manual to be sure.
