Have you installed the Vista drivers for your audio device (whichever it is,
you don't even say)?

Its an intel on board HD sound device. Iam checking into the model number of
the board to see about any bios updates, but iam not sure if thats going to
be the deal or not... I let windows search for an updated driver and it said
that one wasnt available.

If there is a newer BIOS revision only flash it if the description on the
website says that it addresses something to do with your issue. Otherwise
leave the BIOS alone and investigate other possibilities. Intel mobos are
excellent. I would identify the specific sound device on the board and see
if you have the latest driver for it before doing anything else.

Go to the Intel website, and get drivers for your board that are vista
compatible. Don't let Windows look for them. As another poster pointed out.
Also yet another cautions you on flashing the mother board. If anything goes
wrong, there is no way out.... It's a last resort.

sweet, got the drivers, Everything checks out! Not to mention a load of other
stuff that I upgraded and I didnt know existed, because our beloved Windows
didn't say so.. I guess it tries, but it can't do everything.
Thanks a bunch guys and gals!
