It seems that my speaker settings in Sounds/Audio-Volume-Advanced from Control Panel change when the system is rebooted. Am running WinXP with SP1, SB Audigy XGamer. The settings in the sound card application do not change only in the Control Panel applet. I have a 4.1 speaker system. The settings change from Surround Sound to Quadraphonic. Not sure how this impacts my Audigy settings for 4.1. Solution/Tweak??

Did you get the correct drivers for your audio card from the manufacturer's
website and install them in device manager? I don't see the original post
you are replying to, so I'm not sure what the specific problem is - if you
downloaded a driver update from WU, now you know not to do that in the
future - I never recommend it!

The original post is the first one in this thread. I have the latest drivers from Creative. I never use Windows driver updates. I always go to the manufacturer

Had a similar problem with an Audigy 2 that was solved by completely
removing all drivers and references to the Audigy in the Windows Registry,
and then re-installing.

I did uninstall the references per Creative, but there was no mention of removing registry entires. I will give that a try in the next day or two. Thanks!!
