spanning graphics over several cells

can anyone tell me the easiest way to take a large image
and 'split' it among several cells in a table?

split it? i've tried PS but not too much luck.

Hi,
I'm assuming PS = PhotoShop not PaintShop. If so open your picture in
ImageReady click the slice tool (looks like a knife) and slice your picture
as needed then hit File - Save Optimised As and save it wherever you like.

If you mean PaintShop ask someone else - that program is on my 2 worst
programs ever made list

if you have it, fireworks does a good job with slicing images into tables, but
there are free products on the 'net that do the same job (ranging from making
rollovers, layers and so on to simple slicing, generating html to reintegrate in
the browser.

FP itself does not have this capability.

Having been a PaintShop Pro user since it was a $29.95 shareware offering, I
have the opposite opinion. I think that it is excellent value for money, has
tons of features only found in more expensive programs like PhotoShop and is
also well supported by PSP user groups and developers. To each his / her own
....

personally i slice'm for design reasons not speed.
i figure if someone is still using a 14.4 dialup it's time they get caught up

56K (usually a lot less) is the maximum spec for many (vast majority?) of
phone connected users.
This can be very slow when fetching pages from a server on the other side of
the world.
