If this is not a good forum for the following question, please point me to a
better one. I have tried google, nero and handy backup with no satisfactory
answer.

I'm trying to backup a 2g (approximate) file directly from explorer by
spanning several CD's (3?). So far the only way I have found to save the
file is backup the entire partition using the Nero application software.

My system is a hp n5150 notebook running w2k. The cd writer is an external
ARTEC wrr-52x (maddog) on the usb bus. The n5150 uses the Intel 82371AB/EB
PCI to USB controller. The driver loaded for the ARTEC is cdrom.sys.

If you need more info to help let me know what's needed.

TIA

This is normally done by splitting the file into smaller pieces.
Check Google for any number of public domain splitters
(splitter.exe, split.exe).

Thanks for the suggestion. I will do the search on that basis.
