Hi All. I know I am not the only person with spam
problems these days but it is getting ridiculous. My ISP
is/was SNET, then taken over by SBCGLOBAL.YAHOO.ETC. I can
download my email thry my browser when logged into yahoo.
My spam is non existant this way. If logged in thru
Outlook I get dumped on. Currently I am receiving an
average of 45 messages for penis enlargements,
refinancing, you name it evey day. Any options here other
than changing my email address and starting over.

My problem is not near as bad as yours. If it ever gets that bad, the
first thing will be to change my email address. You can't ever think
of an address as "permanent", unless you control the spam blocking.

Next would be to try one or more of these programs:

Popfile
SpamPal.org
MailWasher (don't use their "bounce" feature).

You can learn about these and other anti-spam strategies at

I assume you havn't tried writing rules to handle the spam or you would have
said so.

I was getting almost that many. I used the "Rules Wizard" to write rules to
filter out most of the spam. I still get about 5 to 10 daily in my in box,
and some that should have been filtered by the rules I wrote but they
somehow got through. Right now I am sending all spam to the deleted folder
so I can review what is being filtered by my rules. After I have made
adjustments to the filters so no good e-mail is being called spam I will
change all rules to remove the filtered e-mail as they come to my in box.

hope this helps!
