SPAM taking names from my Contacts

Recently, I've been receiving a great amount of SPAM. Yes I know, that's not
unusal. However, the SPAM has a familiar name or even a name from my
contacts in the Sent By.

How are they able to do this?

TIA
 
They've harvested addresses from any number of locations, possibly including
the address books of people who know you.
