I LOVE Spam! Is anyone using a product in a Win 2K
environment that actually works?

TIA

To get or prevent from getting?

If you are a lover of spam, just put an unsecured Win2k box directly
connected to the internet with IIS and SMTP. I'm sure someone will ensure
that your love affair continues. ;)

For prevention, I have found that a combination of solutions work better
eliminate a good portion of spam. The combination is Bayesian, RBLs,
recipient filtering, and sender/subject filtering. I haven't found a
single methodology that is effective. So the big question is, where is this
solution supposed to fit in? (eg. Exchange, stand-alone hardware device,
Win2k's SMTP service that is part of IIS, .etc)

ps - don't forget to check with your antivirus companies since they may have
av solutions that include some measure of antispam protection. Many will
include a combination of methods listed above.

More and more I get email like this one:

I have a few spare PC's... . can I just write a bat file to loop and keep
opening the url ?
I'd think if enough of us did this, their server would slow down until they
realize that there's no good reason to send spam.

How about a pointer for me to do this ?

Wouldn't doing that cost him more money to have his site hosted due to the
increased traffic? That would hurt him more than it just slowing down. As to
how to make the "loop", I haven't a clue but interested.
