Spam in Microsoft's Newsgroups

P

Peter

I've noticed lately a marked increase in spam postings in all MSFT NG's,
dating services, sex lines, ads etc.
I would have thought MSFT with all it's expertise could automatically reject
these, yet I see them lingering around for days on end in some cases and
even proliferating. Occasionally they get deleted from the server, but even
that seems hit and miss as it may disappear from one NG and not another.
Is there anywhere central that one can report these to?

It has already been reported.
This used to be handled by a dedicated person within Microsoft.
But like many things, it is contracted out with apparent reduction in
quality.

You can say that again ;-)

Orange Badges, Convergys of Ohio, etc. strike again. Call 'em and pose you
have a Windows XP problem Jupiter and watch 'em roll. These are Exhibit "A"
in how highly MSFT regards their customers. PSS/aka Tech Support from India
barely intelligible not because they are from India but because they are
minimum waged butts in seats who can't speak English and couldn't find a
start button to save their lives.

Gary;
Do not thank me, I can do nothing about this current wave of spam.
Unfortunately I only know it has been reported.

Yes I was in the 64 newsgroups for a time.
Doing fine keeping busy in the Vista Beta as well as a host of other
newsgroups.
