Spacebar sometimes doesn't advance the screen

I like to use the keyboard rather than the mouse to navigate. I've
noticed that quite often, but seemingly erratically, when I press the
spacebar IE6 does not advance a screen down. I have a feeling it's
website-specific. Can a website contain code that will prevent SPACEBAR
from advancing the screen? (PgDn works fine.)

It all depends on where your pointer is focused. On almost every page I've
seen, you'll have to click somewhere on the page to "focus" the pointer
somewhere on said page before the spacebar will work to advance the page
down. Just doing some on-the-spot experimentation, one difference I've
noted - on pages where there's an input text box, you'll have to click, but
if there's not, you don't have to. (Small sample, YMMV)
