spacebar shortcut

Somehow I designated the spacebar as a means to scroll through my email. Does anyone know how to reverse this?
 
This is default for reading mails. This works also in Internet Explorer to
scroll through the window. Why do you want this changed anyway?

Try Tools | Options | Preview Pane.
