You need to say what computer model and whether you have a media center pc.
Have you run virus and spyware scans? Tried a System Restore to before this
happened? Your computer manufacturer's support site might be the best place
to ask for help and include lots more info.

Some keyboards have special keys for things like email, homepage etc. It is
possible that the keyboard has developed a fault and is sending some special
code instead of the proper ASCII Character. Is there any way you can borrow
a keyboard to just eliminate that possibility?
