Space allocated for Temp Internet Files

My company is rolling out XP to our users, and the Amount of disk space to
use setting seems to vary randomly. On my own machine, over 2600 MBs of
space was allocated. Is there a recommended setting for the size of temp
internet file? And will IE work ok if we drop it all the way down? How much
space should we allow IE to use?

We set all of ours at 50MB. Everything works just fine.
