SP4 Task Scheduler problem, please help

Hello all

I've installed SP4 and some other recommended by windows
update patches.
Since than service Task Scheduler hangs on startup.
If it's set for automatic startup, it shows that service is
pending. If I try to bring it up manually - it does not
start with a message: 'The Task Scheduler service could not
be started.'. Event log does not reveal
I made sure that Remote Procedure Call(RPC) is running.

Does anyone have a similar problem or any clue?

Did you ever find a solution for this? If so I'd be curious as to what it
