SP4 and IE 6 Problems

Using Dial up I can dial in but when I go to open AIM or
IE the two just try to connect/load the web page till
they fail. Put the patch for the worm on and SP4 and ran
Symantec's blaster fix program and didn't find the worm.
I still cannot get any webpage to load or connect any
help? Sorry solution is probably on here already but had
to go to work

Looks like this is happening to many who have upgraded to
SP4. Web browsing in IE6 is about useless. Have seen many
varieties of this problem in the newsgroups. Tried
reinstalling SP 4 via CD but that didn't help either.
Anyone figured this one out yet?

Uninstall SP4. I know, I know, SP4 is supposed to not break anything but
incontrary to MSFT's pandering, it does. Maybe I'll wait for SP5.

I haven't had any problem since I downloaded it and the patch for blaster
....

We had SP4 break apps using certain MDAC components.
The fix was to re-install MDAC 2.7

I had the same problem but I was unable to find any way
around it unless it was archived. I still can't get sp4
to work on my machine and i've tried and formatted 4
times!! It must be some kind of hardware conflict because
everyone else I know doesn't have the problem I do.
