Just downloaded sp3 and now the computer won't bootup, get
a message the there was an error in "winlogin.exe" and it
now will reboot...

What's going on????

Hard to say. Try booting into safe mode or if that does not work try to boot into
"last known good configuration" which as another option in the alternative startup
menu you use for safe mode. If safe mode works look in Event Viewer for any pertinent
errors that may help. Otherwise consider an in place upgrade of W2K by booting up
from install cdrom. If successful it should preserve your data and applications but
require you to first install your service pack and then all critical updates. If that
does not help you can always attempt to copy your needed data off of your hard drive
by slaving your hard drive in another computer running Windows 2000 or XP. If you
have EFS encrypted files on your hard drive you will lose access to them with a
complete reinstall. --- Steve
