SP2's Firewall blocking LAN traffic?

O

OLIM

Can anyone explain how one can make sure that the
Firewall from Windows XP SP2 is configured correctly, so
the Ethernet LAN is not blocked from accessing the
internet? As when I try to search for it, can't find, and
seems as though only programmes can be allowed? Where do
I go for the relevant file/program?

In the Windows Firewall configuration, on the Exceptions tab (Programs and
Services), enable File and Printer Sharing.

Sorry to hijack the thread... :)

At this site

http://www.chicagotech.net/logonfailure.htm

I get the error mentioned

"Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at
this computer"

but when I click on the link I get

"The requested URL /chicagotech/systemerrors.htm was not found on this
server"

Trying to log in over a LAN 2 LAN VPN and everthing works for W98 and W2K
PCs on the LAN just none of the WXP SP2 PC's (the PC's can get out but I
need to get in to there shared resoruces, which is where the failure occurs
trying to log in.

I also get a "System 5" error when using "net view \\<insert ip>" but once
again it does work when doing the same to the W2K or W98 PCs !)
