SP2

I am about to gom down and update my fathers computer to SP2. I have done it
on mine through the CD. He keeps getting the EULA and clicks not now. Is the
SP2 file already downloaded and is it in the c\windows\software distribution
files? Just getting everything ready for his update including drivers and so
forth. He also has the SP2 CD. would it be best to install it off his
computer if it is already downloaded or delete it on his computer and run it
off the CD?

SP-2 is most likely in the Software Distribution file since that is
how it appears.
He probably has is set to "Automatically download Recommended
Updates..."

Which route you proceed is up to you.
Personally I think you should delete the download and install from CD
to further reduce the chance of problems.
Updated drivers as well as other steps will also help reduce the
possibility of problems:
