I just installed SP2 which was sent by Microsoft. So I go the Windows Update
site and it tells me that I need to install SP2, which is 75MB.
What's this all about?????????
I am getting inundated with SP2!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this the new flavor of the month SP2? The one I was sent is RC2 which
supposedly is the final edition?????????

RC stands for Release Candidate. RTM is final edition. How on earth did you
manage to both obtain and install a beta version of SP2 without realising
it? If your post was riddled with spelling mistakes one might conclude that
you didn't read too well, but you are clearly quite literate. Didn't you
read anything?

I think the perception of literacy is more a case of anger rather than
illiteracy.
MICROSOFT sent me the release candidate 2 and I knew what, this yet another
inane acronym in technogy stood for, from the beginning.
The problem is that RC2 is useless then and I will need to order RTM. Now
this acronym I am not aware what it stands for. What does RTM mean?
Bottom line then, I should toss in the GARBAGE the CD microsoft sent me!
And RE-ORDER all over again this RTM? Or will there be another FINAL edition
of the RTM?
This is what makes dealing with this company so hopeless!

The reason this is happening is cause the RC2 you receive has expired and
the final release is on the update site.

When did MS send you the CR2 CD?

Released to Manufacturing.
ie: Finished.

RC2 is "Release Candidate 2" - not "Released to Manufacturing", so.. Not
Finished.

I don't know where you live, but there are many places you can get SP2
without having to order it from MS, although of course you can do that,
and for free. Many computer stores and office supply stores have the
cd's available, and probably many computer magazines do, too. Of course
in the stores you don't have to buy anything.
