I have successfully implemented SP2 but have a question.
Is the sole purpose of SP2 to provide virus and firewall
protection? I ask because Norton Antivirus and Personal
Firewall seem to protect me fine and therefore did I need
to go for SP2?

Armen;
There is no anti virus in SP-2 and the firewall is basis in that it
adequately stops inbound but does nothing for outbound traffic.
