The FireWall is re-enabled.
There is a class of software called malware.
This is broken up into many sub-types.
Viruses, Internet worms, Trojans are on one side of this category. Spyware adware, data
miners, Broowser hijackers, etc. are on the other side.
The use of a FireWall will protect against Internet worms (I-worms) which are a type of
virus. Internet worms use such ports as 135, 139 and 445 to infect platforms. Well known
worms are Lovsan/Blaster and Sasser.
Here are some port 445 I-worms.

As always, I suggest that those who use broadband Routers specifically block TCP/UDP ports
135~139 and 445 therefore activitity doesn't even pass the WAN - LAN barrier.

I read the following from a Microsoft site:
"Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) provides better protection against viruses, hackers, and
worms, and includes Windows Firewall, Pop-up Blocker for Internet Explorer, and the new
Windows Security Center."
Then I read the list of sp2 'features'.
Where's the 'virus' and 'worm' protection in sp2?
