I recently downloaded SP2 via the Windows-Help.net newsletter previewing the new windows update site. After the installation of the file, it brought up a security center. The center showed the status of the firewall, autoupdates, and showed that an av program was installed but unable to determine status. using xp pro with norton av 2003. how can I get sp2 to show av status?

From my understanding the Anti-Virus companies are waiting until the final
release of SP2 to make the changes. As far as I read about issues concerning
SP2, it is up to the Anti-Virus programs to provide this update to work in
conjuction with SP2.

Best of luck!

It won't. I just turn off the security center. Norton's will tell
you when it need updating. Unless you have norton setup to auto
update.

The latest version I could find on the Symantec site was NAV 2004.
Was that a typo or did you really mean NAV 2005?

Beta testing of NAV 2005 is now complete. It should be ready by the time
WinXP SP2 is finally released. (Don't ask!) WinXP SP2 beta testing is
still ongoing.
