does this mean and how can i get it to download. i am running xp home

If you are trying to download it via the Microsoft Update facility then
try to download the full file from :-

Windows XP Service Pack 2 - Direct Download
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...BE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en

othewise do as the OP suggested and order the CD.

Once you have the file you might like to consider slipstreaming your
version of XP with SP2 so you have an SP2 CD to use in future. If so
