Is there a microsoft sp2 support group in existance now that sp2 is being
rollled out in stages? I can't seem to locate it under my service provider's
server list of groups?
TIA

Hi Sheri,

No, nothing specific to SP2, feel free to ask your question(s) here or the
general group.

Thank you very much for your information Rick. I'm waiting for windows
update to get me SP2. I just wanted to fore-arm myself! ;-)

When I installed SP2 it automatically made a 'backup' (recovery copy) of my
system. Still I suppose that doesn't do you any good if you can't access
your system to run the recovery utility.

I highly recommend you make a backup of your system before you apply
SP2,
Do you mean a registry back up? If so I've done that as a precaution already
(that's if I can actually manage to get the update in the first place)

Not just for SP-2.
It is always a good idea to routinely back-up all important data.
If you are making major changes such as a major installation that is
yet another reason for Back-up.

System Restore and/or registry back-ups are not even close to taking
care of this.
Also, backups need to be CD or at least another physical drive.
Another partition is inadequate.

No. We're using Ghost Corporate edition to image the entire drive for quick
recovery. There are similar drive imaging products out there that you can get
trial versions of for a one-time use like this...
