When I put in SP2 In My XP Pro & Home machines it took the Pro & Home off
the splash screen when you boot up? is this normal? Why did they do that?

Yes, it's normal. I'd like to know why too. The copyright dates are
also gone.

This update is for 4 versions - home, pro, media center, and tablet. I was
told they changed the splash screen so they'd only have to put 1 in the
network update (which is already 266 Meg) rather than 4.

Because there are too many different flavors of XP now. It's saves time
and money not to have different builds.

Is the Network install of SP2 the only one with the new splash screen or
does the Automatic Updates version also have the new splash screen?

Gee, maybe they'll make all the versions of XP one price, too.
Wouldn't that be streamlined?

Who cares? You mean you didn't change that ugly splash screen for something
more artistic long ago?

Run it and see -- and as J. S. Pack said, who cares.

Normal. There were getting to be too many variants (MCE, Tablet, etc)
