Not here.
Have you checked for spyware?

CAUTION!!!!! Removing some spyware can damage the Winsock stact. Before
you try to remove spyware using any of these programs , download a copy of

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Yes - have checked for spyware with Trend Micro and SpyBot. Found a couple
of harmeless items so will see if deleting them makes any difference - I
don't expect so.
The feeling I get when opening a website (since SP2 instal) is that
something within Windows is checking the site before opening since it takes
longer. Also Google takes longer to show search results.
Also, is it normal when downloading a file that the IE page goes to a
warning? ie "this page cannot be displayed". The GetRight download box
appears as normal and thew download progresses OK.

Internet Explorer has a number of Advanced options that might add
some loading/display time to web-sites. However, in most cases,
these items add appropriate security checks - So I would not uncheck
them, if active.
- Check for Publisher's Certificate Revocation
- Check for Server Certificate Revocation (requires restart)
- Warn about invalid site Certificates
- Check for Signatures on downloaded programs.
Have you checked your Browser Helper Objects and made sure that
you have no Add-Ons that shouldn't be there ?
Also, it's a good idea to occasionally check your Hosts file to make
sure nothing is being redirected.
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts (has no pre-defined app to
open, so you'll need to tell XP to use Notepad to edit). It should have
only a sequence of Commented strings prefixed with # and a single
active entry for LocalHost.
