SP2 serious error issue

Matthew Clark

I have a machine that when I install SP2, as it boots up and gets to the GUI
interface, right before it gets to the login screen, it might or might not
reboot, but if it does, I get "The System has recovered from a serious
error" I have an error signature, and in the event log I have an error code
of 1003, and a -102. Details are as follows: Error code 10000050,
parameter1 f2dd4010, parameter2 00000000, parameter3 f7a7b9a2, parameter4
00000000.

This machine is an Omnitech, upgrading from XP SP1 with full patches to SP2.
I can almost always get this reproduced if I sysprep the machine for
imaging.

Any thoughts, suggestions, fixes would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you,

Matthew Clark

I found out my problem and I fixed it. I had a different problem

Try reinstalling your graphics driver. (Note, don't use the one
provide by xp sp2)

SP2 is "updating" video card drivers ? (I hope not)

Actual Mine did, when I did a clean install. You can rollback if
you still have the old drivers on the system.

Before you try that. You might want to lower the refresh rate.
Control pannel-Display-Setting-advanced
(location of the setting, will depend on your graphics driver
installed)
