SP2 Problems - Messed up Restore

I've had problems since installing SP2 and finally decided to restore my
system to the restore point that I had created prior to its installation on
Dec. 13. I've never restored before and apparently have royally messed it up.

It said to turn off all running programs -- which I did. And it said to
"Save your settings" which I apparently incorrectly interpreted as create
another restore point.

Aha! When I did, the old restore point went away. Now I cannot go back to
any days prior to Dec. 13 and there are no restore points on Dec. 13 except
two created by the system after I installed SP2.

Is there anything I can do?

What problems are you having with SP2? Perhaps we can help sort them out? Is
System Restore currently working?

If there are no Restore Points prior to Dec 13 showing in the Calendar there
is nothing that can be done to restore to a date prior to Dec 13. By
default System Restore will use up to a maximum of 12% of available free
disk space and will begin overwriting the oldest Restore Points with new
points as it reaches that amount. Some people leave it set as is and others
down size to suit their own needs. Read here if wish to learn more about
System Restore

BTW you can generally remove SP2 through Add and Remove Programs or you can
try one of these options

I think PJP turned off System Restore and needs to turn it back on if he
wishes to create restore points. If my suspicion is correct the old
restore points are gone forever.

It would be helpful if PJP described the actual problems he has now if
we are going to help.
