I will try again to get some advice. I am not all that computer savvy and I
installed SP2 when it came through on automatic download.I just typed OK and
didn't take any precautions. Big mistake on my part. Things didn't work, so I
removed with add/remove. My cardreader on USB donsn't work, my HP scanner on
USB does not work, and I can not restore earlier than Dec. 6. At first I
thought devices had problems, but since I can not restore either I think the
computer is really messed up by SP2. I am a senior citizen on Social Security
so taking it to a repair person would be a hardship. I would appreciate it if
there is someone who can help me resolve these problems myself. Thanks

Have you tried NEW USB drivers
OR

you can always go to BESTBUY / Staples / Circuit City / CompUSA and Buy
a USB card to put in one of your EMPTY PCI slots..

one of Your USB devices may Have Shorted out , And By Doing So IT Fried
The USB Chip on your Motherboard !!
