SP2 Makes Shutdown An Eternity

Almost always after a session lasting more than a minute or two, shutting
down the computer gives you the hourglass icon. If you wait long enough (four
to six minutes) you'll get the windows shutdown message, and if you hit okay
to that, it takes another five minutes to shut down. Only happens after the
installation of SP2. Anyone have any hints. Thanks.
