Hi,

My friend's computer wants to download SP2 via Windows Auto Update. He wants
to download it but doesn't want to install it....yet. Does anyone know where
on his computer the file would be downloaded to (there's only a C drive) and
if it could be stopped from installing??

Thanks In Advance

You'd be better off downloading the 'network-install' version of SP2. It's
big, but you'llk get 1 file (exe) to run whenever you feel like it or need
to, on any machine. IMHO better then trying to round upp all the possibly
individual update exe's then Windows Update might give you.

If your friend will just be patient for a while, MS will
be offering this on a CD which will be free, but will
probably cost a few dollars for shipping.

To install you must click the I accept to accept the EULA, so it won't
install unless it's told to.

I downloaded SP2 this morning and have yet to install it. I am
running XP Home Edition. The update icon is in my task bar waiting to
be installed. I plan to wait a while before installing it.
It is File Ver. 5.1.2600.2180 . The size is 361 MB. You can
find it in C:\windows\softwaredistribution\
download\9ded4ee34a335fced0033d152a36e0e folder .
The 9ded4ee34a335fced0033d152a36e0e folder has 1,995 objects
in it. Hope this helps you.
