SP2 KILLS MUSIC CD

SP2 KILLED MY CD ROM'S ABILITY TO RECOGNIZE
OR PLAY MUSIC CDS IN ANY WAY.
DATA CDS SEEM TO BE READ.
THE CD ROM MAKES A FEEBLE WHIR AND THEN FAILS TO
REGISTER THE MUSIC CD.
ONE MIGHT AS WELL HAVE A PANCAKE IN THE DRAWER.
THIS WAS CAUSED BY SP2!!!!

WHAT IS THE FIX?

It was probably was that crap that is called rap that was killed and I guess it also broke
your "Caps Lock" key.

SP2 is the worst thing ever. I run game servers and it glitches them up. Just
uninstall it till microsoft actually comes out with a decent update. Or move
to linux.

A mind is such a terrible thing to waste....or in Shawn's case a mind is a
small thing to waste.

If SP-2 causes similar problems on your "game servers", perhaps you
should see what they have in common that is causing the problem since
SP-2 works well on the majority of systems installed.
Your problems on your narrow use do not warrant the broad statement
you made.

Are ALL drivers the most current and compatible with SP-2?
Are ALL hardware and software compatible with SP-2?

A good idea--
but uninstalling SP2 doesn't affect this problem.
Note as well that SP2, big-brother-like, wipes out
record of all system restore points prior to its
revolutionary introduction onto one's machine.

So:
--there's no system restore fix
--uninstalling SP2 is fun to do, but doesn't fix this
--the drivers all claim to be fine; I reinstalled the driver
for the CD Rom

why do you assume that he was listening to rap music? just because you are so
narrow minded and are not open to different types of music does not give you
the right to call other peoples types of music "crap". and dont tell me that
rap is not music. well here is a news flash.....IT IS!!!! the "rap music"
that you so dearly hate is what the media tells everyone rap music is
supposed to be. Well here is another news flash, real rap music....actually
called hip-hop.....has so much more to it than guns, cars, and bling-bling.
it is about life, culture, and politics. and dont go blaming all of your
problems on rap music either.....

next time you make such a bold statement, try to think of the consequences

Don't hold your breath waiting. SP3 will include SP2. You would be
further ahead getting the computability fixes from the vendors for SP2
and installing it.

Lets see.... SP1 ~130MB and SP2 ~270MB

SP3 350 MB ?

Dave :)
