SP2 incompatible with my Yamaha sound driver

I recently updated to Service Pack 2 and find that it will not work with the
Yamaha AC-XG WDM audio device driver for the sound card in my computer. I
don't seem to be able to restore my old system, so is there some other driver
I can use? If not, is my best option to have a different sound card
installed? Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers.

Hello there,

If you have not already done so can I recommend that you go to the
manufacturers web site and look for both firmware and driver updates for your
sound card. You should also look carefully for any hints they have about
SP2....SP2's main thrust was to tighten security and to close loopholes in the
way 3rd party software interacts with theirs....the result is that drivers
written to make use of those loopholes no longer work.

Thank you so much for your help. As it worked out someone on another board
was able to direct me to the device manager (didn't know I had one!) where I
just clicked "update driver" and--voila--it found the new driver I needed and
I am back in business, rocking out on i-tunes. Thanks again!

Does anyone have access to sounds for yamaha equipment? Have entered the
computer age a few years back and now am prepared to start using modern
technology to supplement my acoustic play.
