SP2 hkcmd.exe error

I coworker of mine installed SP2 and when the PC booted it gave him an
hkcmd.exe error. The message was of the type that offers to send info to
MS and the user clicks a button approving or closing the dialog.

Any ideas what this can be?

Thanks!

If it isn't Intel Hotkey...

hkcmd - hkcmd.exe - Process Information
Process File: hkcmd or hkcmd.exe
Process Name: Intel Hotkey

Description:
hkcmd.exe is installed alongside Intel multimedia devices and allows
configurable options for these devices

Author: Intel Corporation
Part Of: Intel Hotkey

remarks: Is installed with some intel graphics driver and keyboard
shortcuts.
Disable it if you don"t use it...

Installed by the Intel 810 and 815 chipset graphic drivers. If you want the
Ctrl+Alt+F12 or similar keypresses to access Intel's customised graphics
properties, you need it, otherwise not. Can be disabled via the Display
Properties in Control Panel

Thanks. I will get this info to him and post back as soon as I have

That sounds like good advice :)

The "problem" was with the hot key driver for the Intel hardware.
The user has not complained about it again, so I guess that it was
either a one time thing or it was resolved.

Luckily.. no worm this time!

Thanks again.
