SP2 & distributing drive images for VMWare or VirtualPC

Our office uses VMWare (like VirtualPC) and we trade XP and Server 2003
images. When I give someone an image, it says, "..hardware so different,
you'll be asked to reactivate in 3 days.".

That's fine. We all have our own keys through our Universal MSDN licenses.
But how the heck can we change the license key and activate using the
new/changed key?

This may be a start.

Hello,
Sorry that article only applies to volume license installs, not from images
from other media types. If they are using Volume Licensing media it
doesn't matter if the hardware is different.
If the hardware is different and you are prompted to activate the
Activation Wizard starts up. In the Activation Wizard, when you select the
phone option there is an option to change the product key.
Thanks,
